BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Playing their final home match, sophomores Bethany Chamberlin and Marissa Burns, and the Spartans lost a heart-breaker to Passaic Community College; 25-23, 22-25, 27-25, 18-25, 9-15 on Friday night.
Amanda Lynch recorded 10 kills and 25 digs and Burns had 25 assists to lead the Spartans.
Northampton took a 2-1 lead after a thrilling 27-25 victory in game three, but the Panthers rallied to take games four and five, and the match.
"I am disappointed for the sophomores and the team as a whole," commented Head Coach Missy Lynn, "we played well, we just didn't make the plays we needed to make at crucial times."
The Spartans, now 10-7 overall, travel to Harrisburg on Saturday to participate in the EPCC Tournament. NCC, the defending champion, is seeded second and will face third seeded Lehigh-Carbon at 12pm for the right to advance to the finals at 1pm vs. the winner of #1 Harrisburg and #4 Luzerne.
