BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The NCC women's basketball team opened Region XIX play with a 72-40 victory over Camden County College on Saturday.

Krista Ruhle scored 24 points and Jenna Bartholomew added 14 to lead the Spartans.

Northampton jumped out to a 30-19 halftime lead over Camden, which won the Region XIX Division III championship last season, and then used a 14-0 run midway through the second half to put the game away.

"It feels good to get a victory," remarked Head Coach Art Wolfe, "I thought we played better today, but we still have a long way to go."

The Spartans, now 1-4 overall and 1-0 in Region XIX, travel to PSU-Schuylkill on November 19th for a non-league matchup.
