Darby Rolls a 300 Game to Lead Club Bowling Team

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Sophomore Owen Darby bowled a perfect 300 game at Town & Country Lanes on Tuesday to help lead the NCC Spartan Bowling Team to a second-place finish at the NCC Invitational.

In addition to his 300 game, Darby broke the Eastern Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference record for a series, with a 3-game total of 806, becoming the first EPCC bowler in conference history to top the 800 mark.

"It was unbelievable," remarked a stunned Sam Carrodo, Head Coach of the Spartans, "Owen just had a terrific day, I am so happy for him ... to bowl a 300 and then to set a conference record, what a day for him."

Darby's 806 series also included games of 258 and 248, in addition to the 300 which he rolled in game two.

Mike Jones (257), Brian White (255), Tim Stuart (237) all had outstanding games for the Spartans, who finished second with a 2631, 20 pins off the pace set by Lehigh-Carbon Community College at 2651.

The Spartans are now off until January 25th when they travel to Scranton, PA to compete in the Johnson College Rock and Roll-A-Thon.
