BETHLEHEM, PA - So close, but yet so far ... the Northampton women's volleyball team ended a tremendous season with a tough loss in the PCAA state championship match, falling 25-19, 13-25, 23-25, 20-25 to Potomac State College.
The Spartans, who entered the match with a record of 16-1, got off to a quick start taking game one behind the play of sophomore Allison Sampson, but the Catamounts recoved to take the next three games and claim the state title.
Northampton finishes the season 16-2.
