READING, PA - Sophomore
Megan Groh helped lead Northampton to a second place finish at the Pennsylvania Collegiate Athletic Association (PCAA) state championships on Saturday at the Hillcrest Racquet Club, as she captured her second consecutive state singles championship.
Groh defeated Kristen Muncy of the Community College of Philadelphia, 6-0, 6-4 to finish her career at Northampton with a 16-0 record.
Freshman
Ashley Bennett teamed with Groh to capture the state championship in doubles, defeating Gulnoza Pazikova and Danielle Luczyszyn of Bucks County Community College, 6-2, 7-5. Groh and Bennett finished the year undefeated in doubles competition and both were named All-Conference and All-State.
On the men's side
Brandon Wright finished fourth in men's singles and teamed with Bryan Silk to advance to the doubles semi-finals, before falling to Adam D'Alonzo and Alex Naylor of of Bucks County.
