Wolfe and Spartans Set to Host USMAPS

Coach Wolfe discusses strategy with the Spartans

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - NCC Head Coach Art Wolfe and his Lady Spartan women's basketball team are set to hit the hardwood on Tuesday night after their extended holiday break.  The Spartans will play host to USMAPS at 6:00pm at the Spartan Center as they begin their push toward the Region XIX postseason.

Northampton, 5-8 overall and 5-3 in Region XIX, open the second semester with a non-league matchup before getting back into the thick of conference play on Friday when they host Atlantic Cape Community College and Saturday when Cumberland County College pays a visit to Bethlehem.

The Spartans, who opened the season 1-7, finished out the first semester winning 4 of their final 5 games.  "We really started to play better as a unit," replied Wolfe, "I thought Ashley Slater did a terrifc job running the point for us and our defense improved as the semester went on.  I hope we can continue our improved play and make a run at the playoffs."

The Region XIX playoffs begin on February 23rd, teams must finish with a winning percentage of .500 overall or .500 in Region XIX to qualify for the postseason.
