CAMDEN, NJ - Camden County College connected on 7 of 11 3-pointers in the second half to pull away for a 76-73 victory over the Spartans on Saturday afternoon, eliminating NCC from Region XIX playoff contention.
"It is definitely disappointing," stated Head Coach Kevin Foley, "but the kids need to realize we still have a lot to play for and a lot to be proud of in our first season of NJCAA play."
Bryant DeShields scored 22 points, including five 3-pointers and Brandon Cox added 18 points to lead Camden.
Josh Vargas scored 30 points and hauled down 7 rebounds, while Mike Wilson added 16 points for the Spartans.
The loss drops NCC to 9-15 overall and 7-12 in Region XIX.
The Spartans travel to Cumberland County College on Monday to face the Dukes at 8:00pm.
