MYRTLE BEACH, SC - The NCC women's softball team won their third consecutive game, knocking off nationally-ranked Herkimer County Community College (NY), 6-4.

Ashley Venturino was 2 for 3 and made a game-saving catch to help lead the Spartans to the victory.
The NCC defense came up big in the 6th inning, turning a triple play.
Carly Brawn added an RBI as Northampton improved to 4-1 on the season.
Krysten Rockovits earned the victory on the mound, improving to 2-0 on the season.
The Generals, a perennial Region III power, earned votes in the preseason NJCAA poll.
The Spartans are off until Wednesday morning when they face Region XIX foe Sussex County Community College at 9:00am.
