BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The NCC tennis team suffered their first loss of the season, falling to Bucks County Community College, 4-3, on Wednesday afternoon.
In doubles action, Adrienne Nenow and
Ashley Bennett won comfortably, 8-3, on the women's side. In men's action, Branon Wright and Adam Lipare lost 8-1 at #1 doubles, while Bryan Silk and Eric Knause were victorious at #2 doubles, 8-3.
In singles action, Bennett and Nenow both won on the women's side, however all four of the Spartans men's players were defeated.
With the match tied at 3-3, the deciding match was at #1 singles between NCC's Brandon Wright and Bucks County's Ryan Turner. The match went back and forth with Wright winning the first set 7-5, and Turner winning set two, 6-3. The third set went to a 12 point tie breaker, before Turner emerged victorious, 9-7 and won the set 7-6, securing the 4-3 victory for Bucks County.
The Spartans, now 1-1 on the season, host Delaware County Community College on April 3rd at 1pm.
