COLORADO SPRINGS, Co. - The NCC softball team moved up to 6th in the latest national poll, released today by the NJCAA. The #6 ranking is a new high-water mark for the Spartans, who previously had climbed as high as #7 during the 2009 season and earlier this year.
The Spartans are currently 25-7 overall and 17-3 in conference play. NCC is awaiting the seeding for the upcoming Region XIX tournament, analysts have the Spartans projected as the #2 or #3 seed.
The Region XIX bracket will be released on April 29th, with the first round of playoffs set to take place on May 1st and 2nd at campus sites.
The Region Final Four will be held at Ocean County College in Toms River, NJ on May 8th and 9th with the winner earning an automatic bid to the NJCAA College World Series in Rochester, Minnesota.
