BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Four members of the NCC women's softball team have been named to the 2010 All-Region team, as announced by the league office.
Named to the First Team were;
Casey Ord and
Gina Falco, while
Lindsay Frontino and
Megan Dougherty were Second Team selections.
Ord, a sophomore outfielder, is a repeat member of the All-Region team, earning First Team honors last season as well. The 2009 Second Team All-American is currently batting .425 with 29 runs scored and 36 stolen bases.
Falco, a graduate of Freedom High School, excelled defensively at third base for Spartans in addition to batting .337 with a team-high 20 RBI.
Frontino (Parkland) who earned First Team All-Region honors in 2009, is currently 8-2 for the Spartans with a 1.14 ERA and 38 strikeouts in her 73 innings of work.
Dougherty, who played at Pocono Mt. West, earns Second Team honors as a freshman, batting .349 with 11 RBI and 14 runs scored, while playing multiple positions defensively for the Spartans.
NCC is currently ranked 10th in the country with a record of 27-8.
The Spartans have advanced to the Region XIX Final Four for the second consecutive year and will look to capture the Region championship this weekend at Ocean County College and earn the automatic bid to the NJCAA World Series.
