Nazareth's Dauscher Signs with Spartans

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Northampton Community College baseball coach Adrian Yaguez has announced the signing of Kyle Dauscher of Nazareth High School to a National Letter of Intent.

Dauscher, a right-handed hitting catcher, batted .328 with a pair of homeruns and 19 RBI in leading the Blue Eagles to a 15-7 record this Spring.  He collected eight multi-hit games, including a 2 for 4 effort with three RBI in a win over Freedom and a 2 for 2 effort with a double, triple and three RBI in a win over Emmaus.

"Kyle is a great pick-up for us," remarked Yaguez, "Kyle fills an immediate need behind the plate for us following the graduation of Greg Kolaronda.  Kyle's experience as part of the Lehigh Valley Carpenter Cup team in 2008 and 2009 will be invaluable as we look to him for leadership with our pitching staff."

The Spartans finished the 2010 season with a record of 20-21, advancing to the Region XIX Final Four in just their second season of competition.
