Men's Soccer Releases 2010 Schedule

Spartans Will Host Defending National Champs Union County College
BETHLEHEM, Pa. -  Northampton Community College men's soccer coach Ned Yelovich has released the Spartan's 2010 schedule.

Northampton will play 16 Region XIX Division III contests, along with one non-league matchup against Broome Community College (Binghamton, NY) during their initial season of NJCAA competition.

"We are very excited to be joining the NJCAA and Region XIX," remarked Yelovich, "It will be a tremendous challenge, especially given the quality of teams in our Region."

Region XIX has historically been one of the top soccer regions in the country and 2009 was no exception as Union County College captured the NJCAA national championship.  The defending national champions will travel to Bethlehem on October 14th for a 3:30pm matchup.

NCC will start the season at home on August 31st when they host Bergen County College, followed by a road tilt at Cumberland Community College on September 2nd.  The Spartans will get tested early as nationally-ranked County College of Morris comes calling on September 9th.

The Spartans then hit the road for three straight games before returning home on September 18th to face Ocean County College and then Manor College on September 21st.

NCC hits the road again for three consecutive games before returning to the friendly confines of Spartan Field for a three-game homestand with Gloucester County College (September 30th), Broome Community College (October 9th) and Union County College (October 14th).

The regular season then winds down with a trip to Raritan Valley on October 16th, followed by home games with Brookdale Community College on October 18th and Montgomery County Community College on October 20th.

NCC games are played on the main campus at the corner of Hecktown Road and Green Pond Road.
