McCoy and Dempsey Named Captains

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - NCC men's soccer coach Ned Yelovich has announced that sophomores Kevin McCoy and Seth Dempsey have been named team captains for 2010.

"This is something they have earned," echoed Yelovich, "captain-ship is not something I give away lightly, I believe that a team captain must lead by example both on and off the field ... Kevin and Seth have earned my respect and I think they will be great team leaders for 2010."

McCoy, who played high school soccer at Bangor, earned All-Conference and All-State accolades during his freshman campaign at NCC.  A tough-nosed defender, McCoy was voted team MVP last season.

Dempsey, a Faith Christian Academy graduate, earned EPCC All-Tournament team honors last season when the Spartans captured the state championship.  Dempsey scored the first goal for NCC in both the semi-finals and the championship game, giving the Spartans a 1-0 lead in both contests.

NCC opens their season on August 31st when they host Bergen Community College at 3:30pm.
