BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Playing on their home course at Green Pond County Club, the NCC men's golf team struggled on Friday, finishing in 5th place with a team score of 338.
"Fifth place is a little disappointing given that it is our home course," remarked Head Coach
Steve Malitzki, "but I think because of that, the guys put a little extra pressure on themselves to perform and they played a little tight."
Rich Eilenberger and
Jordan Abel led the Spartans, each firing an 82, followed by
Eric Ulmer (86), Costa Korovesis (88),
Aaron Gourniak (97) and Mike Jenson (110).
Lehigh-Carbon Community College took their second tournament title in as many matches, finishing with a 317, followed by Harrisburg Area Community College (326), Delaware County Community College (327), Bucks County Community College (337), NCC (338), and Luzerne County Community College (359).
The Spartans will travel to Luzerne County Community College on September 10th for the Luzerne Golf Challenge.
