During Dr. Kopecek's tenure, over 25 new academic majors were added to the curriculum and the college's operating budget grew from $7 million to $42 million dollars.

Dr. Kopecek oversaw the expansion of the Main Campus with the addition of the Enrollment Center, Gates Center, and the student housing complex.  In addition, the college also established sites in Monroe County, downtown Bethlehem and in the Lehigh Valley Industrial Park.

An active member of the community, Dr. Kopecek served on numerous boards and was a strong advocate of college-business partnerships that were a catalyst for economic development.
