BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Director of Athletics
Troy Tucker has announced that Paul A. Miller has been named head coach of the new Northampton men's lacrosse team.
Miller, who most recently served as the head coach at Allen High School, brings a long lacrosse resume to Bethlehem, stemming from his playing days through his time as a high school head coach. A midfielder during his playing days in New Jersey, Miller went on to play collegiate lacrosse at Kean College.
"Paul brings a good mix of enthusiasm, experience and passion to the position," stated Tucker, "when you are starting a program from scratch, you need someone that is willing to put in the time and the effort to build the program ... and we believe Coach Miller is that person."
The Spartans will open play in the NJCAA and Region XIX in Spring 2014 with a 10 to 11 game schedule, including four games against Region XIX foes; Brookdale, Union, Morris and Del Tech. Currently, the Spartans are set to open the 2014 season on March 13th at Army Prep in West Point, NY.
