BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Director of Athletics
Troy Tucker has announced that former Northampton student-athlete
Megan Groh has been named head coach of the new women's tennis program at NCC.
Groh, Northampton's 2009 Female Athlete of the Year, will lead the women's program as they enter their first season of play in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) this Fall.
"Megan epitomizes what we are looking for in a head coach," stated Tucker, "as a former Northampton student-athlete she experienced the benefits of starting her academic and athletic career at the two-year level, and she is very driven to succeed in this venture with our new women's tennis program."
A two-time state champion in singles and two-time all-conference selection during her time at Northampton, Groh went to play Division II tennis at Kutztown University, where she received her bachelor's degree in education.
A graduate of Nazareth High School, Groh was also member of the women's basketball team during her tenure as a Spartan.
