EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. - The Northampton Men's Wrestling team began the 2025-26 season on the road at the East Stroudsburg University Open Invitational on Sunday at the historic Koehler Field House.

The Spartans, in their second season of competition, took the opportunity to open the campaign at the ESU Open Invitational knowing it would feature programs from all levels and provide an avenue to compete in the early going against wrestling programs from all over the state of PA and beyond.

"Great opportunity to get our team on the mat against some established and quality competition," explained Spartans Interim Head Coach Nick Haegele, "I wasn't too concerned about the outcome. I was more focused on how our team was going to compete and was really pleased with our showing today."

Weight Class: 133

Oscar Ubiles (Allentown, PA/Dieruff) was (1-2) on the day. The freshman defeated Dekhi Church (Garrett College), 20-11.

Klo Klay Taw (Emmaus, PA/Emmaus) was (0-2) on the day.

Weight Class: 141

Mason Fox (East Stroudsburg, PA/Lee Academy) was (2-2) on the day. The freshman defeated MJ Aguiling from (Monmouth University) by Fall at 1:05. Fox also defeated Mason Johnson from (Centenary University), 3-2.

Derek Cruz (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) was (0-2) for the day.

Weight Class: 149

Jibreel Fairoz (Orefield, PA/Parkland) was (1-2) on the day. His victory was was via Medical Forfeit.

Weight Class: 157

Xavier Arner (Schnecksville, PA/Whitehall) was (1-2) on the day. Arner picked up his victory by defeating Mukhammad Nasriddinkkhujaev from Temple University Club, 5 to 2.

Shane Stankina (Gilbertsville, PA/Boyertown) was (0-2) on the day.

Weight Class: 165

Shane Moser (Nazareth, PA/Pen Argyl) was (1-2) on the day. Moser collected a victory over Leiti Betts from Renselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Cesar Acosta (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) was (0-2 ) for the day.

Kristopher Xian (Pottstown, PA/Pottsgrove Area) was (0-2) on the day.

Weight Class: 184

Yoskar Morales Feliz (Allentown, PA/William Allen) was (0-2) on the day.

The Spartans will be back in action on Saturday, November 22nd when they travel to Paramus, NJ to compete in the Bergen Bulldogs Invitational at the Bulldog Fieldhouse at 9am.
