PATERSON, NJ - The 12th Ranked Northampton Men's Basketball team, behind a 30 point effort from Sophomore
Kevin Rucker (Philadelphia, PA/Monsignor Bonner Prendergast), improved to 3-0 on the young season with 90-58 victory over Passaic County Community College on Saturday afternoon at the PCCC Fieldhouse.
The Spartans jumped out to a quick 18-3 lead just 5 minutes into the first half and cruised the rest of the way. Rucker was the offensive headliner for the Spartans with his second consecutive 30 point effort to go along with 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 steals. Rucker was 6-10 from behind the arc and 4-4 from the free throw line.
The Spartans had 4 players with double-digits on the stat sheet with
Jahad Marable (Philadelphia, PA/Science Leadership Academy - Beeber) scoring 15 points along with 4 rebounds and
Mekhi Shillingford (Philadelphia, PA/Penn Wood High School) scoring 12 points and shooting 6-7 from the floor. Forward
Deyishon Miller (Philadelphia, PA/West Philadelphia High School) added 11 points with 8 rebounds and was 3-3 from the line and point guard
Terrence Cobb (Chester, PA/STEM Academy) hit for 7 points and 9 assists.

Brennan McCarthy, "I felt we came out strong today and jumped out to an early lead and just carried that energy and momentum throughout the game. Nice effort across the board and a good Region 19 win on the road to get things started for us."
Northampton improves to 3-0 overall and 1-0 in Region 19.
Passaic moves to 1-1 overall and 1-1 in the Region.
The Spartans are back in Region 19 action on Tuesday, November 11th when they travel to Paramus, NJ to take on Bergen Community College at 7pm at the Bulldogs Sports Arena.
