BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Spartan Fans, we learned this afternoon that your 12th ranked Northampton men's basketball team was not selected for one of the four at-large bids to NJCAA Division III National Tournament, thus ending their season. After falling in the North Atlantic District Championship game to top-ranked Union County College on Saturday, the team still had a sense of optimism given their outstanding 2024-25 campaign which saw them compile an overall record of 23-6 and finish with a 5-3 mark vs. nationally-ranked teams, while competing in Region 19, which boasted 6 teams in the final NJCAA Division III poll.
While the players, coaches and staff are obviously disappointed, we appreciate the efforts of the NJCAA basketball committee and respect their decision, as they had a number of outstanding teams to choose from.
Coach McCarthy, his staff and his players should be congratulated on a terrific season and for representing Northampton Community College in a positive manner.
