LINCROFT, NJ - The 5th seeded Northampton women's basketball team used a dominating 1st quarter to upset 4th seeded Brookdale Community College, 68-28, on Tuesday evening at Collins Arena, propelling them to the Region 19 semifinals on Thursday.Â
The Spartans jumped out to a 13-0 lead and led 20-1 after the 1st quarter and never looked back in the the 40-point victory.

Layla Sweatte (Allentown, PA/William Allen) had 19 points and 8 rebounds and
Anisha Sepulveda (Lancaster, PA/JP McCaskey) finished with 15 points and 6 assists.Â
Kailen Felty (Pine Grove, PA/Pine Grove) added 10 points and 11 boards for the Spartans.Â
The win moves Northampton to 17-9 overall, while Brookdale finishes the season 18-9.Â
The Spartans will now face top-seeded Montgomery County Community College on Thursday evening in Blue Bell, PA at 6pm. The Mustangs advanced with a 67-53 victory over Atlantic Cape Community College.Â
