Carly Gallagher

Director of Athletics Troy Tucker announced the hiring of Carly Gallagher on June 21, 2024 as the new Head Women's Basketball Coach at Northampton. "We are extremely excited to get a passionate, successful, coach like Carly to lead our women's basketball program.  I am looking forward to working with Coach Gallagher and her staff on building a championship program."

Coach Gallagher guided the Spartans to a 17-10 record during her first season (2024-25), earning a #5 seed for the postseason and advancing to the Region 19 Final Four with victory over #4 Brookdale in the quarterfinals of the Regional playoffs.  Layla Sweatte and Anisha Sepulveda earned All-Region accolades, and Sweatte was named a NJCAA Honorable Mention All-American.

Coach Gallagher takes over the Spartan program following 10 years of coaching experience at the high school level. Gallagher began her coaching career at East Stroudsburg South as a varsity assistant for one year and then accepted her first head coaching job at East Stroudsburg North from 2016-2020. Gallagher then returned back to her alma mater, East Stroudsburg South, as the head coach from 2020-2024.

Gallagher was a standout player for the Cavaliers, earning First Team All League Honors 4 times, Morniing Call First Team 3 times, a 2-time All State selection, 2-time Player of the Year, MVP of the VIA All Star game and finishing as the all-time leading scorer at East Stroudsburg South High School.

Coach Gallagher played college basketball at NCAA Division II Millersville University, where she was a 4-year starter, scoring over 1000 points, earning All-PSAC honors and was named team MVP following her junior and senior seasons.   Gallagher has a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts and a minor in coaching.
