NJCAA Volleyball coaching icon Adrian Yaguez returned to the sidelines in 2018 after a one-year hiatus. Yaguez guided the 2018 version of the Spartans to their 7th consecutive Region XIX Championship and their 5th NJCAA National Tournament appearance in 7 seasons. Bridget Crimi was named Region XIX Player of they Year, joining teammate Abby Orth on the All Region team. Samantha Hatfield and Crimi were both named to the Region XIX All Tournament team as the Spartans defeated Ocean County College to win the title. Yaguez was named Region XIX and District K Coach of the Year for his efforts.
Yaguez has led the Spartans to a 181-25 record during his seven seasons leading the Spartans, including 7 Region XIX Final Four appearances, 6 Region XIX Championships, 5 EPAC Titles, 4 District Championships and 4 trips to the NJCAA National Championship.
Yaguez took over the program in 2011 and quickly established the Spartans as a Region XIX power. Northampton had an unprecedented 5 consecutive Region XIX Players of the Year; Kelly Yagerhofer (2012), Emily Koehler (2013, 2014), Jax Babezki (2015), and Katrina Shelly (2016), while advancing to the Final Four each season and capturing five consecutive Regional Championships.
Yaguez is a multi-time Coach of the Year, earning Region Coach of the Year 6 times, EPAC Coach of the Year 4 times, NJCAA District Coach of the Year 4 times and he was named recipient of the prestigious AVCA Coach of the Year award in 2016.
