CRANFORD, NJ - The NCC women's volleyball team took game one of their Region XIX match vs. Union County College, but the home team responded by winning three straight games to hand the Spartans a 3-1 defeat.
All four games of the match were highly contested with NCC winning 25-23 and then Union taking the next three; 25-23, 25-23, 25-20.
"Even in the loss, there were some positives tonight," reflected Head Coach Missy Lynn, "we continue to beat ourselves with unforced errors, but I thought overall we played one of our better matches."
Amanda Lynch recorded 20 assists, 5 aces and 10 digs to lead the Spartans, who recorded 17 team aces.
NCC falls to 2-7 overall and 1-2 in Region XIX with the loss.
The Spartans host NJCAA Division II County College of Morris on Saturday for a 12:00pm match.
