Union County Defeats Spartans

CRANFORD, NJ - Union County College broke open a 0-0 contest 20 minutes into the first half and then went on to score three more goals in the next 15 minutes to take a 4-0 halftime lead and then scored three second half goals to cruise to a 7-0 victory over Northampton on Wednesday afternoon.

"Give Union credit, they have an outstanding team," remarked NCC Head Coach Ned Yelovich, "they really play well together and they are well coached."

The Owls outshot NCC, 13-6 with Jeremie Martinez making 6 saves for the Spartans.

NCC falls to 2-11-1 overall and 2-10-1 in Region XIX.

Union, which has won 11 straight contests, improves to 11-1-0 in Region XIX and 13-2-0 overall.

The Spartans return to action on Saturday when they host Raritan Valley Community College in their final home game of the season.
