Volleyball Continues to Roll, Downs Union

CRANFORD, NJ - The nationally-ranked Northampton women's volleyball team remained undefeated with a 3-0 (25-17, 25-16, 25-20) victory over Union County College on Saturday afternoon.

Meghan Granite recorded 7 kills and 7 digs and Halie Cintron added 15 assists as the Spartans won their 12th consecutive match.

"Overall good performance," stated Head Coach Adrian Yaguez, "I thought the girls did a good job of getting themselves motivated and ready to play."

Shanna Hoben added 5 aces and 6 digs and Kelly Yagerhofer had 5 kills, 8 aces, 1 assist and 5 digs.

Yaguez also praised the play of sophomore Sabrina Gonzalez, "she has been a steady influence all year as our libero ... I'm not sure people on the outside realize how much she brings to this team."

The Spartans, now 12-0 overall and 9-0 in Region XIX, travel to Passaic County Community College on October 11th.

Union falls to 2-12 overall and 1-8 in Region XIX.
