Volleyball Upsets Division II Harcum College

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The NCC women's volleyball team remained undefeated with a 3-2 upset victory over NJCAA Division II Harcum College on Thursday night.

NCC jumped out and took game one 26-24, before the Bears evened the match with a 25-22 victory in game two.

The Spartans won a crucial back-and-forth game three, 26-24 before Harcum evened the match at 2-2 with a 25-12 victory in game four.

NCC then jumped out in the deciding fifth game to an 11-7 lead and took a 15-12 victory to earn the upset win.

"This was a very good win for us, over a very good opponent," stated Head Coach Adrian Yaguez, "Harcum is quality Division II program ... I thought our kids did a good job staying within themselves and not trying to do too much."

Kelly Yagerhofer recorded 17 kills  and 12 digs, while sophomore Courtney Rice had a team-high 25 digs and 6 kills.

Halie Cintron had 37 assists and Sabrina Gonzalez added 19 digs to lead the Orange and Black attack.

The Spartans recorded 40 team kills and 67 team digs in the victory.

NCC improves to 4-0 overall and 3-0 in Region XIX.

Harcum drops to 8-2 overall.

The Spartans return to action on Saturday when they travel to Manor College to face the Blue Jays.
