BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The nationally-ranked Northampton women's volleyball team ran their unbeaten streak to 17 matches as they downed the County College of Morris and Lackawanna College in a tri-match at the Arthur L. Scott Spartan Center on Saturday afternoon.
In match one, the Spartans took on Division II County College of Morris and swept the Titans; 25-3, 25-13, 25-9.
Kelly Yagerhofer had 9 kills,
Anna Domyan recorded 6 kills and 6 digs and
Ashley McCauley notched 19 assists and 5 aces to lead the Spartans.
In match two, NCC downed Division II Lackawanna College; 25-13, 25-9, 25-10.
Yagerhofer had 13 kills, 6 aces and 9 digs while Domyan added 10 kills and 11 digs. Nazareth High School graduate
Lindsey Kizer recorded 19 digs and
Alyssa Haderthauer from Pius X had 10 digs to pace a strong defensive effort.
"The girls really played well defensively today," commented Head Coach
Adrian Yaguez, "the took a mindset that they weren't going to let the ball hit the floor and they really moved well and anticipated the ball."
Northampton improves to 17-0 overall and 16-0 in conference play.
The Spartans return to the court on Monday October 15th when they host Harrisburg Area Community College at 7pm.
