BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Playing in front of one of their largest crowds of the year, the Northampton women's volleyball team improved to 20-0 and advanced to the Region XIX Final Four with a 3-0 sweep of Middlesex County College on Tuesday night at the Arthur L. Scott Spartan Center.
The Spartans came out inspired, knocking off the 4th ranked Colts 25-7 in the first set, and never looked back in taking set two 25-12 and the decisive third set 25-10.
EPAC Player of the Year
Kelly Yagerhofer had 12 kills, 5 aces and 2 digs and
Meghan Granite added 9 kills and 3 aces for the nationally-ranked Spartans.
"What a great crowd tonight," remarked Head Coach
Adrian Yaguez, the 2012 EPAC Coach of the Year, "I can't tell you how much the support means to the girls ... I hope we can have a crowd like this on hand for Saturday."
First Team All-Conference selection
Anna Domyan recorded 8 kills, 2 aces and 3 digs and
Barbara Dimon notched 6 kills.
Ashley McCauley, another First Team All-EPAC selection, had 34 assists and Nazareth High School graduate
Lindsey Kizer registered a team-high 9 digs.
Northampton, the #1 seed from the EPAC, advances to the Region XIX Final Four where they will host the #3 seed from the EPAC, Montgomery County Community College, at 11am on Saturday. MontCo defeated 2nd ranked Bergen Community College, 3-2, to advance to the Final Four.
On the other side of the bracket, Passaic, the #1 team out of the GSAC, defeated 4th ranked Delaware County, 3-2, to advance to the Final Four where they will face the EPAC's 2nd seed, Harrisburg Area Community College, who knocked off Union County College, 3-0.

11am - Northampton vs. Montgomery
1pm - Passaic vs. Harrisburg
3pm - Championship Game
Winner advances to District Championship game in North Carolina on November 3rd.
