MEDIA, Pa. - The Northampton women's volleyball team traveled to Widener University for a tri-match on Saturday with conference foes Delaware County Community College and Luzerne County Community College.
The 10th ranked Spartans opened play vs. Luzerne County, sweeping the Trailblazers 25-9, 25-3, 25-3.Â
Samantha Bertasavage (Pine Grove) had 4 kills and 8 aces, while
Barbara Dimon (Pine Grove) added 5 kills and 5 aces.
In the second match, NCC topped host Delaware County, 25-10, 25-9, 25-6.Â
Ashley McCauley (Bethlehem Catholic) had 29 assists, giving her 51 for the day,
Anna Domyan (Bethlehem Catholic) recorded 6 kills and 7 aces and
Emily Koehler (Northampton) added 7 kills, 5 aces and 4 blocks.
"I thought the girls did a good job staying focused," commented Head Coach
Adrian Yaguez, "tri-matches are challenging physically and mentally, but the girls were prepared and we were able to get two quality conference victories."
Northampton, which improved to 16-0 overall, hosts Delaware County on Tuesday October 1st at 7pm at the Arthur L. Scott Spartan Center.
