BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The 9th ranked Northampton men's basketball team improved to 2-0 on the year with an 82-53 victory over PSU-Hazleton on Tuesday evening at the Arthur L. Scott Center.
Mel Copeland (Allentown, PA/William Allen) led the Spartans with 21 points on 8 for 11 from the floor, including a 4 for 6 effort from distance.Â
Kymir Roper (Upper Darby, PA/Upper Darby,) added 12 points and grabbed 8 rebounds and
Michael Marable (Harrisburg, PA/Susquehanna Twp.)Â finished with 12 points and a team-high 5 assists.Â
"Another good all-around team effort," remarked Head Coach
Brennan McCarthy, "we had 10 guys get into the scoring column, shot 50% from the field and had 23 assists on 35 field goals, so overall I'm really happy with our efficiency on the offensive end."
Northampton out-rebounded PSU-Hazleton 47-24 and limited the Lions to 40% shooting from the field.Â
The Spartans will return to action on Thursday evening when they host Passaic County Community College at 7pm.Â
