BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton men's basketball team picked up their 5th win of the season with a 99-83 victory over Lehigh Carbon on Thursday evening at the Arthur L. Scott Center.
21 Spartans saw playing time as Northampton jumped out to a comfortable 51-24 halftime advantage, shooting 57% in the first half.Â
Keenan Roberts Jr. (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin) led the Spartans with 22 points, including a 12 for 14 effort from the charity stripe.Â
CJ Miles (Bangor, PA/Bangor) added 18 points and
Alejandro Beriquete (Lancaster, PA/Milton Hershey) chipped in with 13 points and 7 rebounds.Â
"It was nice to get some of the new guys into the mix tonight," stated Head Coach
Brennan McCarthy, "it was a great opportunity for them get quality minutes in a conference game."
The win was Northampton's 10th straight in the series, dating back exactly 6 years to November 17, 2016. The Spartans lead the all-time series 16-6.Â
Northampton, 13th in the latest NJCAA poll, improves 5-1 overall, 2-0 in Region 19 and 2-0 in the EPAC.Â
LCCC falls to 1-6 overall, 1-4 in the Region and 1-2 in conference play.Â
The Spartans head to Toms River, NJ on Saturday to face the Ocean County College Vikings at 2pm.Â
