BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The 9th ranked Northampton men's basketball team earned their 18th win of the season on Thursday, downing RCSJ-Gloucester 71-58 at the Arthur L. Scott Center.
The Spartans, who led by as many as 33 in the second half, cruised down the stretch to secure the 13 point victory. All 12 Northampton players in uniform saw action, with 10 of the 12 scoring at least 2 points.
Northampton held a dominate 55-26 advantage on the boards and limited the Roadrunners to just 33% shooting from the field.
Zykir Williams (Philadelphia, PA/Boys Latin Charter ) had a team-high 15 points, followed by
Tyrese Fuller (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin) with 11 and
Union Burns (Mt. Pocono, PA/Pocono Mt. West ) with 10.
Kymir Roper (Upper Darby, PA/Upper Darby,) hauled down 10 rebounds, while
Amyr Fox (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin East ) and
Michael Marable (Harrisburg, PA/Susquehanna Twp.) each had 5 assists.
The win moves Northampton to 18-3 overall and 8-2 in Region 19.
RCSJ-Gloucester falls to 8-11 in the Region and 13-13 overall.
The Spartans wrap up the regular season on Saturday when they travel to Lincroft, NJ to face the nationally-ranked Jersey Blues of Brookdale at 2pm.
