Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

Nationally-Ranked Spartans Top Montgomery 3-1

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - After moving back into the NJCAA national poll earlier the day, the 14th ranked Northampton women's volleyball team downed Montgomery County Community College, 3-1 (25-18, 25-16, 24-26, 25-18), on Monday evening at the Arthur L. Scott Center in their annual Dig Pink event. 

Leana Angelone (Coopersburg, PA/Faith Christian Academy) recorded 41 assists, setting up Ayana Bomani (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) and Joy Wetzel (Bath, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) for a combined 27 kills.  Bomani added 10 digs and 7 blocks, while Wetzel chipped in with 2 service aces and 7 blocks. 

Mackenzie Davis (Warsaw, VA/Rappahannock (VA)) added 28 digs as the Spartans remained undefeated on the season. 

The win moves Northampton to 8-0 overall, 5-0 in Region 19 and 7-0 in the EPAC.

Montgomery falls to 7-6 overall, 4-4 in the the Region and 1-3 in conference play. 

The Spartans are back in action on Thursday when they host EPAC-rival Harrisburg Area Community College at 6pm.
