BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The top-seeded Northampton women's volleyball team is set to host the Region 19 / NJCAA East District Championship on Saturday, as the undefeated Spartans will host 5th seeded Harrisburg Area Community College at 1pm in the Arthur L. Scott Center.  The winner will advance to the NJCAA National Championship in Cedar Rapids, Iowa November 9-11. 

Northampton enters the championship match at 14-0 overall, while Harrisburg is 11-7.  The Spartans defeated #8 Atlantic Cape Community College, 3-0, in the opening round of the tournament on Tuesday, while the Hawks upset #4 Bergen Community College, 3-2, in Paramus, NJ. 

The Spartans are in search of their 9th Region 19 Title and 7th District Championship, after capturing both last season under 3rd year Head Coach Rachael Caywood.  "Harrisburg presents a big challenge," remarked Caywood, "but we are exactly where we want to be and we are one match away from accomplishing another one of our goals for this season."

Northampton and Harrisburg have met twice this season with the Spartans winning 3-1 in Harrisburg on September 14th and 3-2 on October 5th in Bethlehem.
