The Spartans, who led 45-35 at halftime, were outscored 49-17 in the second half, as Philadelphia knocked down 9 3-pointers in the game, including 6 in the second half.
Arkel Batts (Middletown, PA/Middletown) and
Elijah Hamilton (Atglen, PA/Octorara Jr/Sr) each had 15 points to lead Northampton, while
Adam Rosa (Philadelphia, PA/Milton Hershey) handed out 5 assists. Hamilton led the Spartans on the boards with 7 rebounds.
The loss drops Northampton to 0-3 overall and 0-1 in the EPAC, while Philadelphia improves to 2-0 overall and 1-0 in conference play.
The Spartans return to action on Saturday with their Region 19 opener at Passaic County Community College. Tip-off is scheduled for 2pm.
