12/8/2023 12:15:00 AM

Box Score SCHNECKSVILLE, Pa. - The 10th ranked Northampton men's basketball team picked up their 10th straight win with an 86-61 victory over Lehigh Carbon Community College on Thursday evening at the Cougar Den.

CJ Miles (Bangor, PA/Bangor) and Elijah Hamilton (Atglen, PA/Octorara Jr/Sr) combined for 49 points on 19 of 37 shooting from the floor as the Spartans remained undefeated in conference play.  Miles (27 points) dished out 9 assists, while Hamilton (22 points) pulled down a game-high 14 rebounds.  Keein Ward (Harrisburg, PA/Susquehanna Township) added a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

"Even though CJ and Elijah had big games offensively, I thought we had nice balance tonight," remarked Head Coach Brennan McCarthy, "12 guys scored at least 1 point and we had 20 assists, so I thought we did a good job looking for the open man.  Keein did a nice job tonight on the glass, as did Nile Mosby (Philadelphia, PA/Carver Engineering & Sciences) (8 rebounds)."

The win moves Northampton to 10-2 overall, 6-0 in Region 19 and 5-0 in the EPAC.

Lehigh Carbon falls to 4-8 overall, 3-6 in Region 19 and 2-4 in conference play.

The Spartans travel to Nanticoke, PA on Saturday to face Luzerne County Community College at 1pm.  The Spartans and Trailblazers have not met since November 12, 2019 when Northampton cruised to a 114-64 victory.  The Spartans lead the all-time series, 16-1.
