2/9/2023 9:06:00 PM

Box Score SEWELL, NJ - The 4th ranked Northampton men's basketball team extended their win streak to 14, with a 67 -54 victory over 14th ranked RCSJ-Gloucester on Thursday evening at the Roadrunner Athletic Center.

The Spartans, who led 30-20 at the half, built their lead to 20 about midway through the 2nd half, before the Roadrunners mounted a run to cut the margin to 7.  The Spartans regrouped and closed out the Region 19 cross-over contest, improving to 16-1 in Region play.

Tyrese Fuller (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin) and CJ Miles (Bangor, PA/Bangor) led the Spartans with 16 points each, Titus Wilkins (Easton, PA/Executive Education Academy Charter) scored 12 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and dished out 4 assists and Mike Marable (Harrisburg, PA/Susquehanna) added 13 points and 5 assists.

"Total team effort tonight," stated Head Coach Brennan McCarthy, "defensively we did a good job contesting shots and putting pressure on their post players.  Offensively, I thought we were opportunistic, we didn't get on the break quite as much as we typically do, but credit Gloucester for that ... Coach Casey does a good job, he has a very nice team."

The win moves Northampton to 23-2 overall and 16-1 in Region 19.

RCSJ-Gloucester falls to 18-7 overall and 17-5 in Region play.

The Spartans stay on their extended road trip Saturday, traveling to the City of Brotherly Love to face the Community College of Philadelphia at 2pm on Saturday.
