PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Northampton sophomore Ryan Gordon (New Cumberland, PA/Red Land) has earned this week's Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (EPAC) Player of the Week honor, for the week ending February 26th, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon.
Gordon pitched a shutout for the Spartans in a season opening win over Region 19 opponent Atlantic Cape Community College on Sunday, February 26th. In 7 innings, Gordon only allowed 1 hit, losing his no hitter in the bottom of the seventh inning. Gordon struck out 11 Buccaneers, walking only two, in his dominating performance.
The Spartans, ranked 11th in the NJCAA national poll, will travel to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to compete in the Ripken Experience March 4th – 9th.
