CRANFORD, NJ - The Northampton men's volleyball team rebounded from their first loss of the season, downing Union County College, 3-1 (25-12, 24-26, 25-23, 25-14), on Wednesday evening at the Owls Nest.
Johnny Martinez (Northampton, PA/Northampton) had 12 kills, 4 service aces, 9 digs, 2 solo blocks and 4 block assists,
Alexander Schoenen (Northampton, PA/Northampton) recorded 7 kills, 3 service aces, 9 digs, 4 solo blocks, and 7 block assists and
Ramon Romero (San Pedro Sula, Honduras/Liceo Billingue) notched 31 assists and 10 digs as the Spartans earned their 5th win of the season.Â
"I thought it was a good match tonight," commented Head Coach
Rachael Caywood, "I was proud of how the guys responded after dropping our first match of the season on Monday, I thought we came out focused and determined to get the W."
The win moves Northampton to 5-1 overall, while Union falls to 4-13.Â
The Spartans are back in action on Saturday when they host Passiac County Community College at noon in the Arthur L. Scott Center.Â
