BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The top-seeded Northampton men's basketball team earned a berth in the Region 19 / NJCAA North Atlantic District championship game on Saturday with a 75-63 victory over #4 RCSJ-Gloucester on Thursday evening at the Arthur L. Scott Spartan Center. 

After a tight first half, the Spartans were able to open a 13 point lead with 5:19 remaining in the game and hold off the Roadrunners down the stretch to earn their second championship game appearance in program history. 

Mike Marable (Harrisburg, PA/Susquehanna) had a double-double with 15 points and 14 rebounds, CJ Miles (Bangor, PA/Bangor) had 13 points and Titus Wilkins (Easton, PA/Executive Education Academy Charter) scored a team-high 18 points to lead Northampton. 

The Spartans, who lead the country in defensive field goal percentage, held RCSJ-Gloucester to 36.9% shooting from the field and forced 15 turnovers in the win.

"Gritty effort tonight," remarked Head Coach Brennan McCarthy, "we had to grind tonight ... really proud of the effort and the fight they showed."

The win, Northampton's 19th consecutive, improves the Spartans to 28-2 overall. 

RCSJ-Gloucester finishes the season at 22-8

The Spartans will host #2 Brookdale in the Region 19 / NJCAA North Atlantic District Championship on Saturday at 3pm.
