BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton men's volleyball team downed Middlesex College 3-1 (25-19, 14-25, 25-16, 25-15) on Wednesday evening at the Arthur L. Scott Center, improving to 7-1 on the season.
Johnny Martinez (Northampton, PA/Northampton) led the victors with 13 kills, in addtion to 6 digs, 3 solo blocks and 1 block assist.
Alexander Schoenen (Northampton, PA/Northampton) recorded 9 kills, 4 service aces, 14 digs, 3 solo blocks and 4 assists, and
Aidan Fleming (Easton, PA/Easton) had 10 kills and 12 digs.
"Overall, it was one of our more complete matches of the year," remarked Head Coach
Rachael Caywood, "Middlesex has played us tough in both matches this year, but the guys have thrived in those situations."
Josiah Melendez (Allentown, PA/William Allen) added 29 assists and 6 digs for the Spartans.
The win moves Northampton to 7-1 overall, while Middlesex falls to 8-7.
The Spartans are back in action on Saturday when they host undefeated Ocean County College at 12pm at the Arthur L. Scott Center.
