PATERSON, NJ - The Northampton men's volleyball team remained undefeated on the season, downing Passaic County Community College, 3-1, (25-16, 25-20, 21-25, 25-14) on Monday evening at the Martin Events Center.
Playing their first road match of the season, the Spartans jumped out to a 2-0 set lead, before dropping their first set of the season, 25-21. Northampton rebounded to take the 4th set 25-14 and earn the victory.
Alexander Schoenen (Northampton, PA/Northampton) recorded 9 kills, 4 solo blocks, 9 block assists and 2 assists, while
Johnny Martinez (Northampton, PA/Northampton) had 8 kills, 1 assist, 1 service ace and 11 digs.
Josiah Melendez (Allentown, PA/William Allen) registered 21 assists, 8 kills, 3 service aces, 11 digs and 3 solo blocks for the Spartans.
The win moves Northampton to 3-0 overall, while Passaic falls to 0-6.
The Spartans are back on the road Wednesday, as they head to Edison, New Jersey to face Middlesex College at 6pm.
