MYRTLE BEACH, SC - The Northampton baseball team dropped their spring trip finale on Thursday afternoon, falling to the College of DuPage, 10-7.
The Spartans led 7-3 entering the 5th inning, but surrendered 7 runs over the final 3 innings to drop just their second contest of their 10-game spring trip schedule.Â
Jeffrey Sabater (Lansdale, PA/North Penn) was 3 for 3 with a walk and 2 runs scored,
Shane Fillman (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall)Â was 1 for 2 with a double, 3 RBI, 2 walks and a run scored and
Luke Spencer (Dallas, PA/Lake-Lehman) added a RBI and 2 walks.
Ryan Gordon (New Cumberland, PA/Red Land) suffered his first loss of the season, allowing 8 runs (5 earned) on 7 hits over 5.2 innings of work.Â
Ashton Johnson (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth) and
Jeff Erschen (Walnutport, PA/Northampton)Â pitched the final 1.1 innings, allowing 2 runs.Â
The Spartans head home to Pennsylvania at 10-2 overall.Â
Northampton is scheduled to host Atlantic Cape Community College on Sunday at noon in a rescheduled single 9-inning Region 19 game from February 25th. Â
