Box Score SEWELL, NJ - The Northampton baseball dropped game three of their Region 19 series vs. RCSJ-Gloucester on Monday afternoon, falling 14-2, to the #3 Roadrunners.  RCSJ-Gloucester had previously won games one and two, back on March 26th.

After a Roadrunner run in the bottom of the 3rd, the Spartans were able to tie the contest at 1-1 when Jeffrey Sabater (Lansdale, PA/North Penn) tripled to lead off the 4th inning and then scored on a sacrifice fly.

RCSJ-Gloucester then exploded for 5 runs in the bottom of the 4th off reliever Cole McGourty (Asbury, NJ/Voorhees (NJ)).  McGourty, who came on in relief of starter Jeff Erschen (Walnutport, PA/Northampton), lasted 1 inning, allowing 5 runs (2 earned) on 5 hits.

The Roadrunners added 4 runs in the 5th and 4 runs in the 6th, to win the run rule-shortened affair, 14-2.

Ethan Ferraro (Gilbertsville, PA/Boyertown) and Ben Boyer (Kempton, PA/Northwestern Lehigh) pitched the final two innings for Northampton, combining to allow 8 runs (4 earned), on 6 hits.

Northampton, which received votes in the latest NJCAA poll, falls to 13-9 overall and 5-7 in Region 19.

RCSJ-Gloucester improves to 19-4 overall and 7-0 in Region play.

The Spartans return to action on Tuesday when they host #6 Brookdale in a doubleheader scheduled to start at 1:30pm.
