BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Director of Athletics Troy Tucker has announced that Northampton will delaying the reintroduction of women's soccer into their program offerings until the Fall of 2024. Northampton had initially stated that the program would be coming back in the Fall of 2023, however a number of extenuating factors have led to the decision to delay implementation until the 2024-25 academic year.

"While I hate to see us delay bringing back women's soccer for another year, it is the prudent thing to do at this juncture," remarked Tucker, "What I didn't want to happen was to have 6 or 8 student-athletes commit to Coach Amato for Fall 2023 and when August rolls around we simply do not have enough bodies to field a team ... that is not fair to those individuals who would then be here with no ability to play.  Delaying until Fall 2024 gives Coach Amato and his staff a full high school season to recruit and ensure we have solid numbers for our return."
