BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Freshman
Kailen Felty (Pine Grove, PA/Pine Grove) recorded 14 kills, 10 digs and 2 service aces to lead the Northampton women's volleyball team to a 25-17, 25-16, 25-23 sweep of Lehigh Carbon Community College on Tuesday evening at the Arthur L. Scott Center.
Ayana Bomani (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) added 8 kills, 5 service aces and 23 digs, while
Leana Angelone (Coopersburg, PA/Faith Christian Academy) was credited with 37 assists, 9 digs and 4 service aces.
"We still aren't playing our best volleyball," remarked Head Coach
Rachael Caywood, "we continue to have really good spurts, but in order to achieve our goals, we need to put together longer stretches of consistently high-level play."
Mackenzie Davis (Warsaw, VA/Rappahannock (VA)) notched 31 digs for the Spartans, who improved to 6-0 on the season.
Lehigh Carbon falls to 2-5 overall with the loss, their 16th consecutive defeat to Northampton, dating back to September 10, 2009.
The Spartans are back at home on Thursday with a big Region 19 contest vs. Raritan Valley Community College, who enters the contest with an overall record of 15-2.
