Box Score BLUE BELL, Pa. - The Northampton men's basketball team, which received votes in the latest NJCAA national poll, dropped a conference game on the road to #6 Montgomery County Community College on Thursday evening, falling 78-58, at the Health Sciences Center.
The Spartans, who knocked Montgomery from the ranks of the unbeaten on December 16th, were outscored by 18 points at the foul line, converting 5 of 9 from the charity stripe, while the Mustangs finished 23 of 32.
Xavier Goodman (Allentown, PA/Kutztown) led Northampton with 13 points, while
Arkel Batts (Middletown, PA/Middletown) and
Elijah Hamilton (Atglen, PA/Octorara Jr/Sr) each added 11.Â
The matchup, which was a non-Region 19 contest, drops Northampton to 14-6 overall and 9-2 in the EPAC, while Montgomery improves to 15-1 overall and 10-1 in conference play.Â
The schedule doesn't get easier for the Spartans as they hit the road on Tuesday January 30th for a Region 19 matchup with the nation's #1 team, undefeated Brookdale Community College. Tip-off is set for 7pm at Collins Arena.Â
