BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton men's basketball team picked up a Region 19 victory on Thursday evening, downing the Mighty Oaks of Salem Community College, 89-37 at the Arthur L. Scott Center.
The Spartans shot 56.7% from the field and held Salem to just 22.7% from the floor, including a 4-34 (11%) showing from distance. "We were able to jump out early and Salem never really recovered," commented Head Coach
Brennan McCarthy, "that big lead allowed everyone to relax and just play basketball."
Elijah Hamilton (Atglen, PA/Octorara Jr/Sr) had a big night with 18 points and 15 rebounds, while
Nile Mosby (Philadelphia, PA/Carver Engineering & Sciences) had a team-high 20 points.
Nate Rivera (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) added 16 points and 6 assists.
The win moves Northampton to 18-9 overall and 11-5 in Region 19.
Salem falls to 10-13 overall and 6-10 in the Region.
The Spartans are back on the hardwood on Saturday when they host Union County College at 2pm.
